How It Works
Manganese Greensand works through a chemical oxidation-reduction reaction. The manganese oxide coating oxidizes dissolved iron, manganese, and hydrogen sulfide in water, converting them into insoluble particles, which are then filtered out. The media can be regenerated with potassium permanganate (KMnO₄) to restore its oxidizing capacity.
